Abstract
The Progress Report of Punjab State for 1963–64 provides an overview of economic, agricultural, industrial, and social developments during a challenging period. The report highlights rising prices and declining per capita foodgrain availability alongside increased plan expenditure aimed at strengthening irrigation, infrastructure, and social services. While agricultural production fell short of targets due to adverse weather, certain crops and industrial sectors recorded positive performance. Overall, the report reflects Punjab’s efforts to balance economic pressures with sustained investment in development and welfare to improve living standards.
