Abstract

Terms of reference—The letter constituting the Committee stales: “.... the National Water Supply and Sanitation Programme has now been in operation for about five years. It was felt that it would be useful to make a critical review of the progress made so far and of the requirements of the future in the field of water supply and sanitation.......... The Committee will decide its own procedure but may visit the States to review progress and examine the problem on the spot.
