Andaman and Nicobar Islands consists of 293 islands, of which only 38 are inhabited at present The populate on of the islands was 1,15,133 according to 1971 census which is now estimated to be 1,60,000. There are 2 districts in Andaman Nicobar Islands viz. Andamans District and Nicobars District.
