Abstract

The Hill Areas of Assam consist of two Hill Districts, namely Karbi Anglong and N.C.Hills. The population according to the census of 1971, 4.5 lakh and 1 lakh respectively. Karbi Anglong District is predominately inhabited by Karbi, Kukis, Kacharis and partly by different sections of people of all religion There is wide scope for all round development of the economic condition of the people besides settled cultivation. mainly paddy traditional system of shifting cultivation.
