Abstract
The allocation for the year 1986-87 is Rs. 1737.50 lakhs of which Rs. 783.00 lakhs is for Minimum Needs Programme. Under Minimum Needs Programme, there is provision for establishment of sub-centers, Primary Health Centers and Community Health Centers in rural areas and training and employment of Multipurpose Workers which is a centrally sponsored scheme on 50:50 sharing basis. As per norm there should be 5133 sub-centers, 855 Primary Health Centers Subsidiary Health Centers and 214 Community Health Centers in Assam, out of which 100%Sub-Centers and 50% Primary Health Centers and Community are Health Centers to be established by 1990.
