Abstract

9th Five Year Plan commenced in 1997-98. The 9th Five Year Plan (1997-2000) has been formulated at an outlay of Rs. 10.000 crores at 1996-97 prices. The Plan outlay and expenditure for the 8th Five Year Plan was Rs. 4000 crores and Rs. 4320.07 crores respectively. The developmental efforts although put to a great strain during the 8th Five Year Plan period due to outbreak of militancy in the State, continued un-abated due to firm determination of the Govt, to continue un-interrupted Employment activities in the State in order to Defeat. The design of militants. With the installation of a popular Govt, in Oct. 1996 a new zeal has been added to the taking up of developmental works with right, guidance and spirit so that fruits of development pert relate to the common masses quickly.
