Proposals for Second Five Year Plan Local Self Government (Municipalities)

Abstract

This note deals with only the Urban local bodies i.e. municipalities of the State. The history of municipal administration in the covenanting States of Madhya Bharat is similar to the history of municipal bodies through-out the country. The special features of the municipal bodies in this State are Evon small towns and town lets which had their importance in the covenanting States have municipalities established for managing their affairs. very limited and liberal State assistance is necessary to enable them to function.
