Abstract

The Union Territory celebrated the 10th Anniversary of its liberation on 19th December, 1971 The Progress made by the territory within a short period of 10 years to bring its economy to the National Level is comparatively quite satisfactory although this Territory could not get the benefit of the first two Five Year Plans. The Territory is rich in Minerals such as Manganese, Iron, Laurite etc. Annually more than 8 lakhs tones of Minerals are being exported. The exports of Minerals from Goa has not only played important roll in this Territory but in national economy as Whole by adding the foreign exchange of Rs. 376.40 Millions per year.
